Skysplash

 Skysplash

poem by e.e.cane

Jan. 11, 2021

flower-soft lute,

thin frost wind

searching eye-to-eye

for tommorrow-thought,

but memories of dreams

washed in tears

it's there, though,

every song,

the kiss and dance of

just because

Nature waiting weaves

yesterday’s chain

waiting

waiting

beneath thundering wave

and reef

the crashing starlight splay,

the ready skysplash

breath-suspence

tingling

pass, weary child,

in all this

too

the whys forgotten with

the blanky

the weight and surity

from monster’s creep

it’s all still there
